David follows Griffin to his hideout in a cave, where he learns more about the Paladins and their history of hunting Jumpers. Griffin reveals that he has been tracking and killing Paladins for years, and that he is the only survivor of a group of Jumpers who tried to fight back. He also tells David that his mother, Mary (Lane), is a Paladin who left him when she discovered his ability. Griffin warns David not to trust anyone and to leave Millie behind, as she will only slow him down and endanger him.

David ignores Griffin's advice and takes Millie to a hotel, where they confess their feelings for each other. However, they are soon attacked by Roland and his men, who have tracked David using a device planted on him during their first encounter. David manages to escape with Millie, but not before Roland captures Griffin and tortures him for information. David decides to go back and rescue Griffin, despite Millie's protests. He finds Griffin at the Paladin headquarters in an abandoned power plant, where he is hooked up to a machine that prevents him from jumping.

David frees Griffin and they fight their way out of the facility, killing several Paladins in the process. Griffin tells David that they have to kill Roland to end the war, and that he knows where to find him. He takes David to a hangar, where he has stored a bomb that he plans to use on Roland. David agrees to help Griffin, but secretly switches the bomb with a decoy. He then jumps to Rome, where he meets Millie at the Colosseum. He tells her the truth about his ability and asks her to run away with him. Millie accepts, but they are interrupted by Roland, who has followed David using the decoy bomb.

David and Roland engage in a fierce battle across different locations, jumping from one place to another. David eventually gains the upper hand and traps Roland in a high-voltage power line in Chechnya, leaving him for dead. He then returns to Millie and apologizes for putting her in danger. He asks her if she still wants to be with him, and she says yes. They kiss and jump away together. 29c81ba772
