However, Varun's true identity is exposed when he tries to rob Soumitra's ancestral temple. He escapes with his friend Devdas "Dev" Mukherjee (Vikrant Massey), leaving behind a heartbroken Pakhi. A year later, Pakhi moves to Dalhousie with her father, who is suffering from tuberculosis. She suffers from asthma and depression and struggles to finish her novel. One day, she finds Varun living in her neighborhood under a new name. Varun reveals that he has been shot by the police during his escape and has been hiding ever since. He also confesses his love for Pakhi and asks for her forgiveness. Pakhi agrees to give him a chance, but soon learns that he is still wanted by the police. She decides to help him escape, but fate has other plans for them.
